~Our Mission at Cornerstone Ministry Center~

Through Jesus Christ, reach people through salvation,

and disciple them through the Word of God by encouraging

and equipping them by the power of the Holy Spirit,

to reach and serve others.

Ephesians 4:15-16 & 1 Corinthians 12

HISTORY

Cornerstone Community Church was founded in October 1991 with five familes as a discipleship Bible study group in one of the members homes.  In September of 1992, CCC was constituted as a church.  As the body of Christ grew, it moved from the living room to the Middle School, to the Crystal Room, and then 2nd street.  Finally finding its home at the present location.  With several acres for future development, CCC will continue growing to meet the needs of Seymour.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

*   The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

*   There is one God, in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

*   Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, He died an atoning death, bodily resurrected, ascended to the Father's right hand, and will return to this earth in power and glory.

*   Salvation only comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, having confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart.

*   The ministry of the Holy Spirit is for today, it convicts, regenerates, baptizes, indwells, enlightens and empowers believers for Godly living and imparts spiritual gifts for the edification of the Body of Christ.

*   The church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the Head.

*   We actively participate in the ordinances of water baptism by immersion after conversion and the Lord's Supper.

*   There will be the resurrection of the human body and the eternal existence of all people in heaven or hell.

WHY WE WORSHIP THE WAY WE DO

Why do we have Praise and Worship?  "Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come into His courts, Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness". Psalm 96: 8-9

Why do we lift our hands?  "Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.  Thus will I bless You while I live. I will lift up my hands in Your name."  Psalm 63:3-4

Why do we clap our hands?  "Oh clap your hands, all you peoples!  Shout to God with the vocie of triumph!"  Psalm 47:1

Why do we shout?  "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!"  Psalm 100:1  "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises."  Psalm 98:4

Why we wave banners?  "We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will setup our banners!"  Psalm 20:5

Why do we dance?  "Let them praise His name with the dance."  Psalm 149:3  "Praise Him with the timbrel and dance."  Psalm 150:4

Why do we bow down and kneel?  "Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."  Psalm 95:6

Why do we belive in the gifts of the Holy Spirit?  "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."  I Corinthians 12: 7-11

Why do we belive in the prophetic?  "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy."  I Corinthians 14:1  "Desire ernestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues."  I Corinthians 14:26

Why do we sing new songs in the Spirit?  "Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."  Ephesians 5:19

Why do we lay hands on people?  "There fore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in your through the laying on of my hands."  2 Timothy 1:6  "They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."  Mark 16:18

Why do we anoint with oil?  "Is anyone among you sick?  Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."  James 5:14
